A Virtual Chest is a chest that can't be accessed in the "physical world of minecraft" there is no block to open. It means that you are the only one who can use it, and it is impossible to steal the content, and unlike your player's inventory, there is no loss when dying.
You can access whenever you want just by typing "/chest" or left clicking with a chest in your hand.
Commands
/chest buy - Buy your chest, you are only allowed 1 and it is free.
/chest - Open your chest.
/chest empty - Empty your chest, this is a good way to delete stuff you don't want.
